The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
Psalm 23
An amazing Psalm and one of the most quoted and loved. If we ever needed the Shepherd, it is now. The world is now in a crisis of leadership. It is evident that many leaders do not know where they are leading people to. But our Lord Jesus knows and He is leading His people to the place He knows well and has prepared solace along the way. But for us to enjoy and cooperate with our Shepherd, we need our heads anointed with oil. Heads dried of the oil of anointing at this time will be very risky. Clarity, focus, friction-free, and a smoother joyful journey are guaranteed for those whose heads are constantly anointed with fresh oil.
