And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets: who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.
Hebrews 11:32-34
At last, when the complete list of all the saints who triumphed through faith is finally written on Heaven’s Victory Board, may your name and mine be found in the list. Amen. As we have read and heard of how the young boy David triumphed over the dreadful giant Goliath of Gath, it demands of us today to search out and learn the secret of his triumph. A close and in-depth look will reveal that at the heart of his victory was his unshakeable faith in the God of the armies of Israel. So, when even the most seasoned soldiers were retreating, David was charging toward the enemy. This is not the time to give up or just play dead. Instead, it is time to feed and fire up our faith in the living God and move forward in Jesus’ name.
