And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is My body.” Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
Matthew 26:26-28
Again and again, we must keep fresh in our minds the power that is in the blood of Jesus. It is only in his blood that we have freedom, pardon, deliverance, forgiveness, liberty. Remove the above words from any person’s life and what remains is a sinful, bound, lost soul. When we can comprehend that, then we can best appreciate the virtue of the blood of Jesus. There was no sin in His blood, so there was no death in His blood. With sin’s entrance through Adam, the death through sin, the human blood became infested with death. Thanks be to God for the wonder of the blood of Jesus Christ.
