A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. Luke 6:45
In Psalm 119:11 David said: “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.“ The value that we place on a thing is what makes the thing a treasure. If we can esteem the word of God more than anything and value it more than anything that one can desire, it becomes a treasure. And if it is a treasure, then it must be hidden so that it cannot be stolen. The inner room of your life is your heart and that is where the most treasured possession is to be stored. Where your treasure is, that is where your heart will be.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
