Now we who have believed enter that rest, just as God has said, “So I declared on oath in my anger, ‘They shall never enter my rest.’”’ And yet his works have been finished since the creation of the world. Hebrews 4:3
The Israelites could not enter the Land of Promise because of their unbelief. We must learn to rest on God’s promises. When we have settled, our hearts and souls anchored on God’s promises, we experience the rest of faith. The infallible words of His promises become a solid rock on which we stand. And we can sing with the psalmist: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth be removed and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea.
