At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight. All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him. Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Matthew 11:25-30

Have you ever walked with your child who insists on carrying his or her own bag? For example, a heavy school bag or a heavy shopping bag? Sometimes, it is to show you that he or she is grown and strong and is able to bear his or her loads. As you see your child struggle to bear the weight and delay the journey, you plead, Please let me carry the bag or at least hold one side. To truly know Jesus is to know our Helper. He is the ever-near help in our moment of need. I believe it grieves the Lord when we bear the burden, He has already borne for us, or we refuse to relinquish the burden of life to Him. In these times of increasing pressures and burdens, the Spirit of Christ is urging us all to lay our burdens down at the feet of Jesus, for He cares for us. Shalom.
