And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all. And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
Luke 4:14-19
I have learned that the Lord repeated this declaration often during His earth ministry, and when people heard that and believed that He was the Christ, the Anointed One, then power flowed through Him and healed them all of any sickness and destroyed their burdens. All through the Book of Judges we see God anoint a judge with the Holy Spirit, that is endue them with supernatural powers, and they will liberate Israel from their oppressors. Gideon, Samson etc. That was the Spirit of Christ coming on them to empower them to deliver the oppressed people of God. The anointing is the same today. It is the immeasurable power of God that destroys yokes and burdens. Christ is the burden-bearer, which is still what He is doing today by the power of the Holy Spirit. If there is a burden, there is the anointing to destroy it. If you would believe, you will see the glory of God.
