Then after that saith he to his disciples, Let us go into Judaea again. His disciples say unto him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest thou thither again? Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world. But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him. These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well. Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep. Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.
John 11:7-14
With the Lord is the power of life and resurrection. Our God gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they are and come to be. With Him are the keys of hell and death. He is Alfa and Omega. In the presence of God, everything shrinks. The enemy of our souls magnifies sickness, and disease, and intimidates, frightens, and casts a fearful dread on humanity. But in the light of God’s presence, the works of Satan fizzle. At the mention of the name of Jesus, every knee must bow. To the Lord, Lazarus was just sleeping. To the Lord, the twelve-year-old daughter of Jairus was just sleeping. Magnify the Lord, not your situation. Let His word have a stronger hold on our minds than life’s situations.
