I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me: For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.
2 Timothy 4:7-10
Like the seed that fell among thorns brings no fruit to maturity because of the cares of this present life, so are people who let go of the heavenly vision and race. People who desire to overcome and be victorious in the fight of faith seek out and follow those who have overcome and learn from them so as to overcome. But in the times now present, people are not following those who have gone through trials and testing and have overcome, instead they follow those who have no scars of war and who offer them opportunities to fulfill their earthly dreams.
